The Intimate Charm of Piano by Michie Koyama, Michie Koyama is a pianist representing Japan in both name and reality, and has been active at the forefront of the music scene since she became the first Japanese to win both the Tchaikovsky Competition and the Chopin Competition, two major international competitions with a prestigious history that have attracted the attention of the world. Since her debut in 1987 with “Chopin: Piano Sonata No. 3/Andante Spianato et polonaise brillante”, she has released more than 30 albums. In recent years, his recordings of “Bach: Goltberg Variations,” which captured his deepening and ultimate pianism, and “Late Beethoven Sonatas (Nos. 28-32),” his first collection of Beethoven sonatas, have received rave reviews. This latest recording, made in December 2022, features the masterpieces of Koyama’s favorite composer, played on an 1895 Steinway.
